Schmidt & Bender Zenith scopes offer several features in addition to short length - moving through the full magnification range only needs a half-turn of the adjuster ring and eye relief is a comfortable 3.5" (90mm). They are fitted with 'Posicon' elevation and windage turrets that give a visual display of how much reticle adjustment has been used. This allows the scope to be mounted on the rifle so that the maximum amount of adjustment is available. Dial settings are easily recorded with a silver ring on the turret for reliable return to zero.
This scope also features a 'FlashDot' illuminated reticle that lets you activate a bright red dot precisely at the center of the reticle, when conditions dictate. The dot can be completely turned off when not required.
In the field, the FlashDot acts much like the front bead on a shotgun, bringing your eye immediately to the target. This is invaluable for quick reaction shots on running game or even charging dangerous game. It is well suited to bright and harsh lighting conditions, with the bright red dot providing a precise, easily seen aim point against the dark body of a moving animal. When the dot is switched off, the regular fine crosshairs remain in view.
A digital chip automatically switches off the power after six hours of non-use. Just in case, an extra battery can be stored under the cover of the windage adjustment turret.
Zenith scopes are made from a strong and lightweight alloy.
